The award winning rapper and 'Lonely' singer Akon has collaborated with Tekashi 69 (6ix9ine) for the remix of his smash hit single 'Locked Up'.
New Music From 6ix9ine
The Konvict artist Akon, real name Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam, has partnered with none other than everybody's favourite federal informant Tekashi 6ix9ine, Daniel Hernandez, for the remix of his 2004 smash hit "Locked Up".
Although the concept of the song seems fitting for the pair considering they've both served time, we're likely confused as you are, as Akon didn't spill the tea on his mates in court LOL! The 24-year-old "Gooba" artist and self-proclaimed "King of New York", shared the preview to Instagram, and it's likely titled "Locked Up Part 2".
Akon and Tekashi 6ix9ine (Locked Up Part 2)
Akon's seen bopping and singing along to the well known sounds of "Locked Up", which initially featured rapper Styles P, whilst 6ix9ine excitedly mimes in sync, looking like a gangster hip hop fairy - it's a thing apparently nowadays LMAO! No seriously, the comments on the Instagram post seem more fixated on his hair.
The caption associated with the Instagram post read: "LOCKED UP PART 2 IM ON ALBUM MODE 💿💿💿 THIS ALBUM GOING CRAZYYYYYYY 🔥🔥🔥 @akon 💛💚💙💜❤️🧡🖤🤍", and this where we got the potential title.
Why Is The 6ix9ine and Akon Collaboration Surprising?
We're not going to disparage or undermine 6ix9ine, but we assumed that Akon would deter from working with someone who eagerly "snitched" on the gang. Akon spent four years in prison from 1999 to 2002 for being apart of an auto-theft ring, and he originates from the traditional era of hip hop entailing the likes of Snoop Dogg, who isn't a fan of 6ix9ine.
The traditional hip hop community including, but not limited to Meek Mill and 50 Cent, abide by the "no snitching" street policy. In other words, they wouldn't co-operate with the police or any law enforcement agency like the FBI.
In other news: How did Ayleks expose 6ix9ine? In case you're wondering, she's the pretty emo model and artist, and ex-girlfriend of rapper Trippie Redd - the one 6ix9ine assaulted with TreyWay as stated in court documents.
6ix9ine's New Rap Flow
The preview comes after 6ix9ine pushed back the release of his album in support of George Floyd, the African-American man killed by Police. This is the second preview of material to be shared by 6ix9ine after he recently shared a clip of himself showcasing his new, adaptive flow - see the video below.
