After the 'Jin and Juice' rapper Snoop Dogg negatively criticised his wife for the raunchiness of her song WAP, Offset responded to his comments about Cardi B.
Offset Responds To Snoop Dogg's W.A.P Opinions
Kiari Kendrell Cephus (28), professionally known as Offset, stands in defence of his wife, Cardi B (28), following criticism from the rap veteran Snoop Dogg.
The 49-year-old "Doggystyle" artist, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, considered Cardi's WAP song "too raunchy" and needed to be watered down.
During an interview on Central Ave, with host Julissa Bermudez, the d o double g said, "let's have some imagination," in reference to women's intimate privacy.
"Oh my God. Slow down. Like, slow down. And let's have some imagination... Let's have some, you know, privacy, some intimacy where he wants to find out as opposed to you telling him," Snoop spoke of the track.
What Did Offset Say About Snoop Dogg?
Thanks to TMZ, the Migos star encountered a camera and was asked about his verdict on Snoop's comments. Appearing somewhat oblivious to Snoop's views, Offset began by saying: "I love Snoop, man. Umm, she [Cardi] grown."
He continued: "I don't get in females business, so Ima just stay at that. I hate when men do that. I don't do that. I don't care if a girl woulda said something bad about me. I just don't get in females business, I'm grown, I'm from the south though."
Shortly after, he then went on to stress the double standard with male and female rappers; Snoop was dragged online for this very idea, considering his "Doggystyle" past.
Probably stating the obvious, Offset went on to say: "As rappers, we talk about the same shit... Men can't speak on women, they're too powerful, first off."
He added: "And It's a lot of woman empowerment. Don't shoot it down. We never had this many female artists running this shit. They catching up to us, passing us and setting records. You know what I'm sayin. That's two women on one record, that's a very successful record."
Offset did everything he could to alleviate the situation by expressing his appreciation for Snoop. In an attempt to minimise the hype surrounding the issue, Offset said:
"I really f*ck with Snoop, like, on a personal level. So, I could personally call him and be like, 'Snoop come on now', you know what I mean. I don't wanna seem like I'm dissing at Snoop. That's my boy."
He then set the levels straight by adding: "But, at the same time, all men should stay out of women business. Cos that's women business, you get what I'm sayin. You ain't gon' have no win.
"Your comments probably looking crazy from just saying stuff like that, you know what I'm sayin. Stay outta women business. Women are strong right now. We should uplift our women. Don't say what they can and can't do."
