Ever since becoming the first-ever Creative Director in Residence for the Playboy brand, the 'Up' rapper, Cardi B, has helped the pleasure company gain a year-over-year revenue increase.

What more could a business need with aims of gaining more sales and customers? Cardi B, that's who they need! The "Bodak Yellow" and "Please Me" rapper, 29, has played a significant part in helping Playboy (it's parent, PLBY Group) report significant gains year-on-year.
The Brooklyn native and mother-of-two (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar), became the company's first-ever Creative Director in Residence (on top of being the founding member of Playboy's Centerfold platform), calling it "a dream come true to officially join the Playboy family".
"Our strong first quarter with 63% year-over-year growth, robust demand for our iconic brand and consumer products, and continued progress on our digital roadmap for Centerfold, are coming together into one cohesive Playboy ecosystem creating a flywheel driving long-term growth," said PLBY Group's CEO, Ben Kohn.
What Do We Know About Playboy's Gains?
Presenting their first-quarter returns for 2022 (ended March 31st), PLBY Group announced a revenue increase of $69.4M, year-over-year, with direct-to-consumer revenue rising by 125%, to $49.6M. "With Playboy's massive global reach and Centerfold as a valuable engine for organic customer acquisition, we believe we can drive significant growth across PLBY Group’s product offerings," Ben Kohn said.
During the weekend, Cardi B enticed fans with a video promoting her Playboy partnership, that quickly clocked up significant views (1.6M) and likes (113K). The 30-second clip showed the inked baddie (beauty) dressed in a multiple Playboy swimwear outfits (whilst "seductively" consuming whipped cream), before flexin' with an array fashionable items entailing the iconic brand's bunny.
