Fans of the 'Oops' singer, Britney Spears, have had their prayers answered (partially), as news of the '90s sensation recording music overwhelms senses with warm welcomes.
New Music From Britney Spears
After six years without an album, the "Pop Princess", Britney "Jean" Spears, 40, is taking steps towards a highly-anticipated music comeback. Amid her most debilitating tribulations, unshackled and liberated from her conservatorship, Spears is ready to reclaim her place in the industry.
Spears elavated to fame in the late 1990s with her debut album, "Baby One More Time", and swiftly became a pop icon, and has sold nearly 150 million records worldwide. According to sources, her team has contacted talents to interest them with new material, and collaborators reportedly include Claude Kelly.
While it is not clear when or if a new album will be released, fans will no doubt be excited for the return of the Pop Princess.
Britney Spears' Oscillating Journey
When Britney Spears was placed under a conservatorship in 2008, it was intended to be a temporary arrangement to help the troubled star get her life back on track. But more than a decade later, Spears was still under the control of her father, Jamie Spears, 69, and a team of lawyers and advisers.
The conservatorship, which has been the subject of intense scrutiny and criticism, has had many accusing Britney's father, Jamie, and the other conservators (attorney Andrew M. Wallet) of taking advantage of Spears and violating her rights - Britney Spears is said to be worth an estimated $70 million (USD).
In 2020, a social movement calling for the termination of the conservatorship, #FreeBritney, gained traction, and sometime later, Spears herself spoke out in court proceedings asking to be freed from the arrangement. On November 12, 2021, the conservatorship was officially terminated, giving Spears back control of her life.
Previously, Spears had refused to work on new material while under the conservatorship that started in 2008, but her current circumstances enable control of her prospects. Now, sources close to Spears say that she is ready to get back into the studio and start recording new music.
A music insider told the Sun: "It is very early days and Britney isn't putting any pressure on herself to release an album right away or anything, but her team are putting feelers out about the prospect of new music.
Several people who she feels comfortable working with have been contacted and asked if they would like to work on music with Britney again and everyone seems pretty keen to be involved."
Adding: "She has been through an incredibly tough few years but deep down she does love making music and performing so to have some new music out there could really help her turn over a new leaf."
