The Philly born 'Championship' rapper Meek Mill posts cryptic messages to Twitter fuelling speculation of a diss track towards 'Gooba' artist 6ix9ine.
Meek Mill vs Tekashi 6ix9ine
Unless you've been living under a rock, you shouldn't be surprised to acknowledge a hashtag similar to #MeekMillvs6ix9ine trending on Twitter, after the rappers 6ix9ine (Tekashi 69) and Meek Mill aggravated their tentions online.
After his monumental and record breaking return to social media, 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) was bound to stir the pot with the release of his self gratifying track "Gooba". We honestly didn't expect to see nuns or hear a sincere "sixty nine", but he really had us scratching our heads.
I'm Back And They Mad
The visuals for 6ix9ine's latest video is a resplendent show of egotism entailing under dressed twerking women, heavy jewellery, rainbow colours and torments. The images of the "poorly misled" niño (boy) testifying against TreyWay in court began to elude us, as the supposed clout chasing "act" he claimed to portray still remains.
After the "poh-leece" informant was released early from prison over COVID-19 fears, his return to music wasn't going to be met with open arms, typically from the traditional hip hop community.
Although Meek's tweet didn't explicitly mention the rapper 9 years his junior, netizens easily assumed - like we did - it's association with him. "We control the culture lol and ima set a example lol" Meek posted on Twitter. The tweet subsequently attracted an overwhelming amount of support from both sides of the bridges.
"Like when u signed with a former correctional officer who took the identity of another man" said the user @cr8zzyboy, who couldn't let the moment slip to reference the rapper Rick Ross and his label Maybach Music - once home to Meek.
Why Did 6ix9ine Snitch?
In a record breaking Instagram live stream viewed by 2 million users, 6ix9ine said: "Where was the loyalty when you were caught on the wire tap trying to kill me, where was the loyalty when you were trying to kidnap my mother, where was the loyalty when you stole a million dollars from me?"
He continued: "Where was that? So who broke it first? I get it, don't fight fire with fire. I'm sorry, but what did I do wrong? Be loyal to n*gga who f*ckin' my baby mums? Be loyal to n*gga that kidnapped me, beat the shit outta me on video and everythin? I'm supposed to be loyal to that? Y'all don't want to accept that those are true facts."
Meanwhile, veteran rapper Snoop Dogg has undoubtedly expressed his disapproval of 6ix9ine and asked audiences to stop promoting his material. The "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper commented on a post by TIDAL's Chief Content Officer Elliott Wilson saying: "All these media outlets making snitching cool. I'm old school."
"F*ck 69 and everybody pushing his line right now, all New York GZ feel me on this and if you don't f*ck u2.", the OG said.
Even with the slightest sense of freedom considering he's currently under house arrest, 6ix9ine got an early taste of what his future holds after his address was exposed online, forcing him to relocate. His shenanigans may earn him dollars but he really should be careful, but what do you think?
