We found it compelling to write about Natalia Kills in her favour, as we strongly believe she was left out to dry by MSM, cancel culture and us - yes, us.
Natalia Kills Is Not Over Party
Dear cancel culture, before you get your undies in a twist please hear us out LOL. Yes there's no doubt that Natalia Kills took a huge gamble with her controversial remarks on the New Zealand X Factor (2015), but there's so much we should've considered pertinent to the show's producers and our "true" feelings about her.
We'll be giving you some food for thought on why we think #NataliaKillsIsDope and how the industry failed her. Tanizzle can wholeheartedly admit that we often "sat on the fence", perhaps inclined by views, when we admire her music and love her style.
FYI: to prevent any confusion, we'll continue to use the name Natalia from herein opposed to her current professional name Teddy Sinclair, with all due respect.
Tanizzle's Interest In Natalia Kills
Our interest in Natalia began when we asked, what happened to Natalia Kills? As the title suggests, it was written for those with intrigue. We can honestly admit that we came across a little strong as we found her personality distasteful for obvious reasons however, we've always appraised positively her musical talents.
As time began to elapse we noticed an abundance of traffic for the aforementioned article. We then found it relevant to ask our viewers, is Natalia Kills cancelled forever? The content was written to establish the concerned as we wondered who was visiting us, in terms of supporters or the latter.
To our enlightenment, a Twitter post related to the article received responses from her loyal base inspiring us to write this. We've taken kindly to all their opinions and it's given us a reason to challenge certain narratives as we haven't done any #JusticeForNataliaKills.
A Twitter user with the handle @AreYouShook replied: "No she isn't! Y'all cancelled her over a scripted show! How about y'all cancel everyone in MediaWorks who was in the meetings before the show including the other judges???".
Although the response was in reflection to our content, to our gratitude @AreYouShook wasn't implying that Tanizzle cancelled her as we later learned from this tweet saying: "I didn't mean y'all specifically lol 😅 oops".
Another tweet that came to our attention was from the user SushiRollPhan. "She shouldn't have been cancelled in the first place", SushiRollPhan posted. When we asked @SushiRollPhan why that was, we received the reply: "She took part in a scripted tv show and did her job as an entertainer. That is not something someone should be cancelled for, especially as Simon Cowell has been doing the same for his whole career, and not been cancelled for it once."
How could we not agree? We strongly doubt that Simon Cowell would've endured the same consequences, furthermore his longevity in the industry stems from belittling contestant dreams, but that's surely showbiz right? Well it shouldn't be, as it's manipulation of the vulnerable and with time and tolerance it was accepted regardless.
In our first article we made it seem as if Cowell had moral limits and excluded the very nature of these shows and their writers. Natalia's claims of a "publicly-stunt" were shut down by powerful critics, but how do we know that it wasn't "scripted" considering the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreements) personalities and participating acts sign? The producers got off lightly.
If we can learn anything from this type of media, we'll have to ask ourselves "what makes cracking television?" When it doesn't go in their favour there's usually someone to throw under the bus and our theory's substantiated when contestants are usually involved, as it's easier to bare little responsibility for their actions.
Take note of Celebrity Big Brother UK S5 involving the late Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty, the Ryan Thomas and Roxanne Pallet incident, or Love Island and it's tragic circumstances off air. All these shows have been affected with aftercare issues, but yet they continue to thrive even after deaths, racism, sexism and false accusations to stress a few.
Tanizzle's Final Thoughts
We're not trying to start a petition to have these shows cancelled as we find them entertaining at times, but we do want all participating parties to be held accountable. If there's any truth in Natalia's claims of a "wide-reaching legal gagging-order" for which we don't doubt, there's a censored story that really needs to be told.
She said she was sorry for her mishaps a very long time ago and we think it's time to let bygones be bygones. We'll continue monitoring Cruel Youth assets for new material and for the record Teddy Sinclair AKA Natalia Kills never left the building, as there's a chance you've bopped your heads to music she's written without even knowing.
We think that #NataliaKillsIsDope and good luck if you think you'll change our minds - stay safe. Feel free to comment, share and join our fast growing community when you like Tanizzle on Facebook.
