Will Smith expresses his sincere gratitude to the hip hop sensation Joyner Lucas, for his tribute to the music and film legend in his new Snapchat show.
Will Smith Meets Joyner Lucas
Who hasn't been inspired by the iconic Will Smith? We definitely have and it's blatant to acknowledge that the rapper Joyner Lucas has been too, as "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" graciously thanked him for his dazzling tribute in his new Snapchat series Will At Home (#WillAtHome).
Contributing to the ever growing appreciation he deserves - Tyler Perry named a sound stage after him - Lucas released "Will" which pays homage to the father of three for his amazing endeavours in music and film. The video depicts Lucas taking on multiple roles played by Smith including the titles "Bad Boys", "Pursuit of Happiness", "Men In Black" and "Shark Tale" to name a few - video below.
Smith couldn't meet Joyner in person due to the unfortunate social distancing measures, but that didn't impede his sincerity for Lucas' efforts. Over a streaming service the pair were joined by Jaden Smith a friend of Lucas and of course son to Will.
Smith admitted to watching the video at least nine times and said he was "humbled" by the content, as the trio marvelled at the work. "You've always been my idol. For me, I feel like you've done everything the right way, and I really look up to that." Lucas said, and later "I always told you my son looked just like you when you were a kid, Jaden," in relation to "Pursuit of Happiness".
We've always been fans of Willard Carroll Smith Jr. and yes that's Will Smith's government name if you didn't know. Let's face it he's an iconic figure and there's something about his heart that radiates kindness. As for Joyner Lucas, he continues to shine bright and create shock waves ever since "I'm Not Rascist". We absolutely love his lyrical intent and artistic creativeness as he perpetually proves his "goatness" - that's a word we're claiming LOL.
