DJ Akademiks, the renowned podcaster, internet sensation, and live stream maestro is facing a storm of serious allegations from his ex, Ziya Abashe - it's peak.
Is Surviving Dj Akademiks Coming?
Update #1:DJ Akademiks "clears up all fake allegations and addresses the viral video" in his latest stream shared on his YouTube channel. From our perspective, irrespective of how we deliver news with nonchalance (often with sarcasm), the infamous internet personality and streamer "stood on bizniz" whilst attempting to elucidate "facts" according to him.
Updates will continue as they come. From herein, the original article will continue to be read as initially posted however, a video was added below entailing the current update from Akademiks.
Livingston Allen, the 32-year-old Jamaican-American podcaster, internet personality, and live streamer, widely known as DJ Akademiks (or simply Akademiks, in addition to Big AK), is at the center of a storm of serious allegations that have sent shockwaves through the most volatile environment for public opinion: the internet. But what caused it? Well, an ex-girlfriend entered the chat!
The controversy ignited when his former partner, Ziya Abashe, took to the internet on 30th December to make shocking claims of SA (s*xual assault) against Akademiks and his associates. Abashe's revelations, which came in the form of a video (seen below), was in response to Akademiks publicly sharing an incident where he allegedly caught a woman engaged in intimate activities with his boys while he was unconscious (asleep).
The Gravity: A Triggered Internet And More!
Abashe asserted that a r*pe kit had been conducted, heightening the gravity of the accusations. Social media erupted with outrage, with many suggesting that Akademiks strategically shared his version of events to preemptively control the narrative. But what was the narrative? It was Akademiks' Podcast account.
The unsettling saga began with Akademiks discussing an incident on his podcast, "Off the Record with DJ Akademiks." He recounted inviting a woman to his home, only to wake up and discover, through security footage, that she had engaged in a threesome with his friends. Akademiks claimed he confronted her, leading to accusations and a subsequent raid on his residence by police. But then came the contradictions.
Ziya Abashe Challenges Akademiks' Story
However, Abashe contradicted Akademiks' narrative, stating that he was lying about the events. In a video shared on social media, she challenged his account, alleging that he had s*xually assaulted her. The woman in the video claimed that Akademiks, despite their two-year acquaintance, attempted to portray her as a mere acquaintance and victim of his friends.
In the video, Abashe said: "I look crazy right now, but I'm not gonna stand here and let this man continue to lie about me," she started. "That's not what happened, Akademiks. You know that's not what happened. And for you to pretend like you didn't do anything? That I just went to your house and I'm just some thot," she said. For clarity, the term "thot" is slang for: promiscuous female (think Celina Powell!).
She continued: "Like we didn't know each other for two years. You tried to save yourself after your friends assaulted me. Whether you got drunk or not, I know that when I woke up, you were on top of me, too. You r*ped me, too. A r*pe kit was done. You know what? I'm gonna come back with my own story. This what you wanted? You're about to get it. I've been quiet for way too long," she concluded with.
Viral Footage: HoodZoneTVN's Video Controversy
Moreover, the drama intensified after @hoodzonetvn released a video purportedly entailing Akademiks' "girlfriend smashing his friends in his house," which quickly went viral - although she couldn't be seen visibly, she could heard painfully screaming, in what most people considered "distressful." Akademiks dismissed the footage as "fake news," stating that the woman in the video was reacting to negative online portrayals.
Akademiks: "Fake news asf. this video is a drunk woman who never got smashed by no body friends lol shes screaming cuz she seen blogs posted a clip of me talking about her and itmade her look bad. try again." What's your thoughts on her voice? Just a "drunk woman," or there's more to the story? A longer video exists here however, the video has lower audio.
Darker Turns: Grooming Allegations Surface
The controversy took an even darker turn as allegations surfaced online accusing the former "Everyday Struggle" host of grooming underage girls. Unverified DMs and testimonies circulated, raising serious questions about Akademiks' conduct. A user on X, NATERERUN, shared a post saying: "Allegedly akademiks is linking & flying out underage girls & keeping in contact with girls to turn 18 to have s*x with." Adding: "This is a new story & their are multiple girls coming out about him making them drink to the point their unconscious & unresponsive so he can assault them."
Internet sleuths then did some more digging and found a voice clip of Akademiks, in which, he "goes on rant about he doesn't mind messing with underage" girls, and "there's no difference between 21 and 17." Yikes! Is it time to say RIP to DJ Akademiks' career if the allegations against him are true?
