Known for her self described 'rhythmic pop' and amazing talents, we couldn't help but express our love, and admiration for the beautiful Tinashe.
If You're Reading This We Love You Tinashe
She's undoubtedly one of the most "underrated" artists of our time, but Tinashe's a force to be reckoned with in more ways the one. How's it even possible for an artist who not only sings her own material, produces, and composes - makes beats or creates instrumentals - not gain such reverence as alternative artists?
We could be here all day appreciating her talents, for example her dancing - fingers crossed she works with The Queen of Polyswagg Parris Goebel - but this article's a token of appreciation to her current endeavours, but feel free to learn more about her on Wikipedia or her official site.
Tinashe Was Set Free
Let's not beat around the bush and pretend that her previous record label RCA didn't hold her back. The label was supposedly meddling and limiting her career prospects, selling her music efforts without her knowledge, and devised some of the most "unappreciated" artist collaborations they could manage - no offence to them.
Lord knows what they were thinking, but we can confirm that she wasn't "dropped" and released by RCA. Our understanding comes courtesy of her longtime manager Mike Nazzaro who implied that they weren't compatible, but the split was deemed "positive" as she would gain more control. To us this was the best move she made for herself, and it's similar to Taylor Swift's circumstances pertinent to creative control.
You've probably heard of the so-called "pressures" of the entertainment industry, and Tinashe's experiences isn't considered new. She once said in an interview with Lena Dunham that "I couldn't, as an artist, get behind the lyrics" in reference to A&R pressure to record a song contrary to her liking.
If every story has a "purpose" then we're surely glad that she parted from them, because she's definitely oozing with vibrancy, and it's beautifully seen in a "Game of Song Association" with Elle magazine below. With traditional music burdens such as weekly sales targets, or label creative control now the least of her worries, her future seems more promising than it did before.
Drink, Smoke, Dance, Vibe A Little Bit
Her most recent project "Songs For You" is major statement in itself, and something to antagonise her previous label with lol. The project was recorded in her home studio, released under Tinashe Music Inc, and is filled with dance bops like "Die A Little Bit" featuring the south London rapper Ms Banks.
In comparison to her last project "Joyride", it's blatant to differentiate the mood or sound of the releases. The project encapsulates Tinashe's directional "vision", something she longed for and her fans. Album collaborators also include MAKJ, 6LACK, and G-Eazy.
We really, really hope that she ignites a spark in those who once slept on her, and is appreciated for her commitment to entertain. Whatever the weather, we've got Tinashe's back and believe she'll make a significant impact on the industry as long as she's allowed. What do you think of Tinashe?
