We can't necessarily doubt it entirely, but the internet is suggesting that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is returning to adidas to sell off YEEZYs after their expensive divorce.
Ye for Yeezy: No One Man Should Have All That Power!
The thought of German sports giant adidas begging at the knees in order to persuade Ye (formerly Kanye West), 45, to make a return to their business to sell off remaining YEEZYs has us ROFL, even when the fashion titan hasn't confirmed rumours including the gorgeous Yeezy Boost 350 in "Pirate Black".
The internet, and of course it has to be, began speculating the "Power" artist's return to adidas after negotiating a deal to sell $500 million (USD) worth of shelved YEEZYs after terminating the controversial genius' partnership with them due to a slew of anti-semitic remarks made sometime in October, 2020.
Why Bring Ye (Kanye West) Back To adidas?
After severing ties with Ye, adidas, who didn't immediately act upon controversies concerning Jewish people until they were forced (by a way of cancel culture and retailers pulling certain products from stores) hasn't managed to retain it's glory especially concerning YEEZY products.
Bloomberg reported that adidas parent company, Adidas AG, was met with a decline in shares whilst sitting on a pile of unsold merchandise approximately valued at $1.3 billion (USD) as a consequence of butchering its lucrative business with Kim Kardashian's baby father-of-four. adidas' New Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Gulden said:
"The numbers speak for themselves... We are currently not performing the way we should," on the company's website. The rumoured negotiations apparently include: no new YEEZY branded designs in order to sell current YEEZY branded swag that adidas can't sell without Ye. In addition to that, the return of the most popular colourway devised by Ye's collaboration with adidas: Yeezy Boost 350 in Pirate Black.
To Buy YEEZYs, or not to buy YEEZYs?
In the worst-case scenario if rumours aren't true about the German sports giant begging for Ye's return, adidas will have no choice but to write-off everything YEEZY. To no one's surprise, absolutely no one, this will result in further losses for the reputable brand but there's a still a chance to tie loose ends.
Will you be buying YEEZYs if they return to shelves? We definitely believe that hypebeasts won't miss the opportunity irrespective of Mr Ye, AKA Kanye West's past problems. For clarity, we still listen to Ye's music and honestly think he's GOAT however, it doesn't mean we support his inappropriate, and indefensible BS towards Jewish people.
