Some Netizens claimed it was a publicity stunt as she was more interested in "sharing" it on social media, instead of reporting it to the police.
Tanizzle reached out to the Airbnb Press Office to understand whether a report was filed, but they're yet to comment. Tana Mongeau who recently split from Jake Paul less than six months after their marriage, has allegedly been robbed at gunpoint by an Airbnb owner - tweets below. The YouTuber turned MTV star, shared her traumatic ordeal to supportive fans who urged her to "blog about it".
Tana Tweeted in the early hours of January 24th saying "dude my airbnb owner just pulled a gun on us", to her two million plus followers. The response was quickly intercepted by the official Airbnb Help account, who asked her to create a report.
In response to her allegation Airbnb Help said "Hey Tana, we'd like to find out more. Could you DM us with the email address linked to the Airbnb account used for booking? We're standing by.". Tana sarcastically replied to the companies tweet by saying "mood.".
Twitter User's Responses
Although most of the tweets were supportive as users were concerned about her safety, there were a few users questioning her intentions for why she chose to Tweet instead of calling the police. Tana, who's no stranger to publicity - stunts - recently split with Jake claiming their relationship had gone downhill in the last few weeks.
Their "break" was officially announced to fans on social media, and there's no surprise that "many" think that their engagement was for attention. Some users said ".... are u safe? Maybe call the cops?", "It just didn't happen", and "Why are you telling Twitter and not the police".
