Crime isn't tolerated here, but this one had us creasing LMAO! The 42-year-old Godfather of Grime, Wiley, has been charged with assault and burglary after an alleged incident involving a former "kickboxer".
The "Boasty" rapper, whose real name is Richard Kylea Cowie Jr. was accused of smashing plates and assaulting Ali Jacko, after he allegedly broke into his home situated on Romford Road, Forest Gate, on August 28th - a place Wiley frequented during the pandemic for recording purposes.
What Have The Police Said?
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: "At around 10pm on Saturday 28 August, police were called to a flat in Romford Road, Forest Gate.
"Officers attended the location. It was alleged that a man had entered the flat, assaulted the occupant and caused criminal damage to property. The man was arrested and taken into custody."
They added: "The occupant, an adult male, sustained a minor injury. London Ambulance Service were not required."
Wiley's Response To The Assault Allegations
Meanwhile, the originator of Grime didn't seem too fussed online as he was captured asking a question, that we couldn't help but ask ourselves. In the short video, before laughing hysterically, Wiley said: "would you break into a kickboxer's house, and kick him?"
Wiley should appear at Thames Magistrates' Court (in Bow, E3) on September 13th charged with assault by beating, and burglary with intent to cause criminal damage.
