Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter has launched her debut Adidas x IVY PARK collection - adidasIVYPARK - and it's already breaking the internet, plus winding up trolls.
The Queen Bee x Ivy Park
First thing first, let's start off by congratulating The Queen Bee herself Beyoncé as her IVY PARK brand (#adidasIVYPARK) has launched in the US today - Jan 18th 2020 - see images below.
This will be IVY PARK's initial collaboration with the sports giant Adidas, and it's defined as "athleisure" "gender-neutral" apparel. Beyoncé has previously said that "It is a dream come true to re-launch IVY PARK as the sole owner", and is one of the first black women to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand.
The Boss Lady
If the brand IVY PARK doesn't seem new to you, it probably isn't. The label was originally established in 2016 selling to TopShop, but due to sexual harassment and racial abuse allegations pertinent to Phillip Green, Bey severed her ties buying back shares in 2018.
In a statement released by Beyoncé on the official IVY PARK website she states "This is the partnership of a lifetime for me ... Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding IVY PARK on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.".
Ashley Graham and Co.
Celebrities such as Ciara, Ashley Graham, Missy Elliot, and Reese Witherspoon all seemed appreciative for their gifts after receiving large orange wardrobes containing early exclusives. The heavily pregnant, and fabulous Ashley Graham didn't hold back with thanks, as she's seen dancing and parading back, and fourth to Beyoncé's Baby Boy hit featuring Sean Paul.
The Tanizzle L Awards
Give a round of applause to Sainsburys for winning the very first - and hopefully the last - "Tanizzle L Award" for "The Best Marketing Fail" - it's now a thing as we're totally "triggered" lol! The supermarket giant couldn't help itself on Twitter by "mocking" Bey's vision for fashion, due to the resemblance of their uniform; it's colours.
Likely considered marketing - very smart if we say - the giant shared an image of one of their employees in the maroon, and orange attire captioned with "Repping since 1869", "The Original", and concluded with the hashtag #SainsBey. In response to a tweet by @Kevuun saying "you didn't invent this color palette.", Sainsbury's simply replied with "We made it famous though!! Karen" - see the tweet below.
