The co-host of MOBO 2020, Chunkz, has officially announced that he is no longer pursuing his music career, as matters of religion (Islam) take precedence.
Chunkz Quits Music
Amin Mohamed, who's professionally known as Chunkz, 25, has announced to his 1.76 million YouTube subscribers that he's no longer pursuing his music career due to conflicts with his religion.
The YouTuber and presenter, who has beliefs in Islam, revealed his ambitions in a YouTube video that was widely received with positive responses, as he elucidated his concerns regarding, "Dīn over dunyā."
According to Wikipedia, "Dīn (deen) is an Arabic word with three general senses: judgment, custom, and religion", and "dunyā (dunya) refers to the temporal world and its earthly concerns and possessions, as opposed to the hereafter."
Chunkz Explains Why He Quit Music
The former musician, who has collaborated on multiple occasions with his close associate, Filly (Andres Felipé Barrientos), 25, and more recently on "Lingo" by the "Circles" artist, Deno, 18, "had an epiphany about three months ago" to cease activities concerning music including, making and listening to it, as it's deemed "haram" (forbidden or proscribed by Islamic law).
In the video (seen below), the host of Sky Sport's Saturday morning show, #SaturdaySocial, said that he didn't "feel right about it doing this", especially when getting closer with his religion.
He then went onto explain that his decisions (against Islam beliefs) often made him "feel bad" thereafter.
