The DJ and presenter, Maya Jama, was criticised for making an innocent Instagram video using profanity, after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Cancel Culture Sets Their Eyes On Maya Jama
The 26-year-old, Maya Jama, found herself in hot soup after "innocently" making a remark that included profanity, triggering critics, after a video was taken "out of context".
Maya, who is said to be "deeply saddened" by the death Prince Philip, was "disappointed" that viewers misunderstood her reaction, in a video posted to her 2.1 million IG followers.
What Did Maya Jama Do?
Making her way through central London, in a black taxi, Maya was seen filming an Instagram story whilst passing Buckingham Palace, where she initially remarked on how busy it was.
Momentarily, the Celebrity Juice panellist then came to the realisation of why news crews were gathering in abundance, saying: "Oh my god, it's kicking off, yes f**k."
Maya then asked the driver, "Prince Philip died did you hear?", but he/she didn't seem to hear her; she captioned the post saying, "DRIVER AIRED ME BUT IT'S OK".
LOL! If you're wondering where the rest of the drama is, that's literally it, but that didn't stop mainstream media outlets from making a big fuss about it.
Maya Jama's Team Responds
A spokesperson for Maya told The Sun: "It goes without saying that along with the rest of the country Maya was deeply saddened to hear Prince Philip had passed away.
"Her earlier video caught an off the cuff remark about the number of press outside Buckingham Palace and was in no way a reflection of her feelings on the matter.
"Understandably she is disappointed this has been taken out of context as no disrespect was ever intended."
