Meet the global dance phenomenon Parris Goebel AKA Parri$ known for highly attractive, and trend setting dance routines with her dance group The Royal Family.
Who Is Parris Goebel?
If you don't know who Parris Renee Goebel (MNZM) aka Parri$ is, you've most likely seen her impressive and mesmerising dance routines without a doubt. The New Zealander born October 29th 1991, and professionally known as Parri$ is a very talented choreographer, dancer, singer, director and actress. Her dance crew The Royal Family has won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship a whopping three times.
The Younger Parris
At the tender age of 10 Parri$ was interested in dancing, and began hip hop dance lessons. At aged 15 from her aunt's garage, and later at her father's warehouse she practiced dancing with her four female friends who formed the dance group ReQuest. She later left Auckland Girls' Grammar School to concentrate on her dancing after attending the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention in the United States, for which she was selected to perform in the finale performance.
What Is Parris Goebel Successful For?
With her Polyswagg style - inspired by dance hall and alternative dance elements - she has earned her most notable success for choreographing the video "Sorry" for Justin Bieber, for which is the 8th most viewed video on YouTube with more than 3 billion views as of January 2020.
Additional collaboration credits include Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, Little Mix, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, 2NE1, Taeyang, and Black Pink. Please note that this is hardly a scratch of her associations, as Sam Smith's also a collaborator and many more.
She has also starred in America's Best Dance Crew and Dancing With the Stars Australia, toured with Jennifer Lopez, and choreographed and had a role in Step Up: All In. In December 2016 she released her debut album "Vicious" which also featured DeeWuun, Tone Stith, Jaxon, and Sammy J with songs such as "Friday", and "Nasty".
On January 9th 2020 Parri$ released a choreography video on YouTube entailing an astonishing cast of diversity, with no less than 50 girls to Yummy by Justin Bieber. It's a little more than just a dance video as it's complimented with high quality visuals, and of course captivating dance routines - watch the yummy dance choreography.
As if her workload wasn't occupied enough, Parri$'s setting her sights on Hollywood as she's tipped to direct Murder on the Dance Floor marking her feature film directorial debut, based on her "smash hit" street-based-drama of the same name.
The Honour
Among a slew of awards, and honours including the Street Dance New Zealand Choreographer of the Year and Dancer of the Year, she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit - notice the MNZM after her name above? that's what that's about! - for services to dance in the 2020 New Year Honours.
