The Young Money pioneer pleaded guilty to illegally carrying a firearm whilst travelling to Florida on a private jet.
Lil Wayne Faces 10 Years In Jail
The "Prom Queen" rapper, Lil Wayne (38), real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., may face 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to illegally carrying a loaded firearm.
The rapper, who was snitched upon by an anonymous informant, was travelling on a private jet to Florida last December, after arriving from California.
Assumingly compliant with officers, Carter didn't refrain from concealing the gold-plated .45-calibre strap (gun), as he told them he had it in his bag.
The strap, which happened to be a Remington 1911 entailing six rounds of ammunition, was found by officers who obtained a search warrant.
According to the Associated Press, with a info from a search warrant, Weezy told investigators that the strap was a Father's Day gift.
Carter was also in possession of personal use amounts of cocaine, oxycodine, and ecstasy. He was not charged with any drug crime.
What Will Happen To Lil Wayne?
Lil Wayne faces up to 10 years in federal prison, after previously been convicted of a felony, which immediately makes "his possession" of a gun illegal.
Although we don't think he'll do anything remotely close to 10 years, it's very likely that he would do a lengthy bird (sentence).
The rap GOAT is currently on $250,000 bail and is due for a sentencing hearing scheduled for January 28th.
