The 'Bodak Yellow' artist Cardi B, has filled for divorce from her husband Offset, after three years of a 'dishonourable' marriage.
Who Is Surprised By Cardi B Divorcing Offset?
Should we be surprised by Cardi B filing for divorce from her hubby Offset? The pair have been married for the past three years, and let's face it, it hasn't necessarily been a "faithful" bond, especially on Offset's part; cheating allegations.
Cardi B, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, 27, made the filing in Georgia on September 16th, listing her husband Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 28. According to TMZ, the divorce is being contested by the "Bad and Boujee" rapper, who happens to be one third of Migos.
Why Is Cardi B Divorcing Offset?
Unlike Cardi B and Offset's secret ceremony in 2017, the public has been aware of Offset's past infidelity with women. Their relationship, for which has been riddled with cheating rumours, has been deemed "irretrievably broken" with "no prospects for a reconciliation," as Offset allegedly cheated again.
A source told People: "Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time, but Cardi looked the other way because of the baby... She also didn't want to be embarrassed. But she's had enough." Their split isn't the first; although they made amends.
In December 2018, in a since deleted Instagram video, Cardi B said they "grew out of love" and "things just haven't been working out." The WAP artist said: "So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I've been trying to work things out with my baby's father for a hot minute now,
"We are really good friends and we are really good business partners... you know he's always somebody that I run to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other... but things just haven't been working out between us for a long time," she added.
"It's nobody fault I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. It might take time to get a divorce and I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father," she concluded.
Offset Breaks His Silence
Unfortunately stuck in the middle of their predicament, is the pair's daughter, Kulture, 2, for whom Cardi B is requesting "primary physical custody" of, and "support and maintenance" for. Meanwhile, the Migos rapper seemed to be living his best life, after he broke his silence on Instagram, with a "nonchalant" post; irrespective of their divorce matters.
In a series of posts, captioned with "Grind don't stop," followed by a stop sign emoji, Offset can be seen standing near a vehicle in socks, with a pair of red and white Jordans in front of him; holding a phone. In another image, Offset can be seen laying on a couch, staring away from the camera.
To no one's surprise, the internet was quick to troll the rapper in response to his caption, with one saying: "Grind dont stop but your marriage did.. find a balance bro." Another wrote: "He fronting he know his soul is hurting."
Although we're not too surprised by the idea of divorce, considering Offset's lack of "trouser snake control," we didn't think it would come to this. In comparison to the hip hop power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z, who have had their differences supposedly due to cheating, there wasn't any signs of divorce; neither a face for the female connected to Jay - Becky?
Did you know, that "Becky with the good hair," until this day, still hasn't been identified? LOL!
Then there's Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who by far took us by surprise, as we once believed that their marriage could have no such thing as "entanglements." Clearly wrong, Jada had a thing with the singer August Alsina and spilled the beans effortlessly in a Facebook Watch episode, that broke viewer records.
Jada's revelations on her Facebook show, Red Table Talk, was seen by a record breaking 15 million views within it's first 24 hours. Remarkably, her "entanglement" disclosure smashed the previously held record of 7.6 million, held by the same show, featuring Jordyn Woods.
